Constitutional Law 1

This course covers the basic theories, practices and structures of Korean Constitutional Law.

This course is designed to cover theories and case studies of civil liberties, equal rights, social rights, in relation to enhancing the individual's legal status within his/her relationship with the country.

General Principles of Civil Law 2

This course covers the basic principles and policies of the Civil Code, in succession to General Provisions of the Civil Code 1. Special focus will be given to the transfer of rights(declaration of intention, substitution, aide of legal actions, extinctive prescription), included in the first third(chapter "sang") of the Civil Code. This course aims to enhance the understanding of the Civil Code system, in relation to its policies and principles, and the overall understanding of judicial relationships.

General Principles of Criminal Law

This course deals with a survey of theories on crime and punishment by comparing and contrasting major theories, judicial cases, regulation, legislative trends in Korea and other countries.

General Principles of Law of Obligations

This Course pursues a systematic survey of law of obligations, transfer of obligations, assumption and extinctions of obligation, etc.

International Law 1

This course deals with the main subjects of international law, especially introducing and analyzing the problems of the subjects closely related to current affairs. The aim of this course is to widen students' perspective of international law, enhance their abilities to discover the key issues and problems regarding related subjects, and based on such developments, raise the level of legal thinking.

General Principles of Administrative Law

In modern countries, the role of administration is more important than ever before. The effective execution of administration and the possibility of the administration's violation of citizen rights is increasing, which is why it has become important for us to study how to harmonize the two ideological basics. This course aims to form a logical system in order to understand the overall outline of Administrative Law, and its basic concepts.

General Principles of Commercial Law

Among a company's legal relationships which the economy is based on, this course will deal with the concept of merchants, the main agents of a company, and their assistants, as well as Commercial Law which regulates the external transactions of a company.

Science and Technology Legislative System Theory

This course deals with the study of social agreement and the operation of practical legal systems regarding the production process of various science technology related laws, along with legal theoretical approaches toward science technology, using methods of lecture, survey, presentation and field trips.

Intellectural Property Law

This course will examine principal doctrines concerning patent Law, Utility Models Law, Dsign Law. Copyright Law, trademarks Law and Unfair competition Law. Studying domestic and foreign cases. Students will develop understanding of Intellectual Propert.

Administrative Remedy Law

This course deals with national legal remedies against administrative actions, categorized into ex ante and ex post remedy, with a focus on administrative litigation system and national compensation policy. Main research areas will include the legitimacy of exercising governmental power within a constitutional nation and national remedy for violation of private rights, and such research will lead to the examination of the institutional significance of general principles in Administrative Law. In addition, further studies on administrative adjudication, administrative litigation, state tort liability, and loss compensation policy as administrative remedies will be conducted, with a focus on positive law regulations of Korea. In order to make up for the legislative deficiencies that cannot be helped by current legal systems, students will examine legal theories, precedents and foreign legal systems.

Company Law

This course will deal with the four types of companies regulated in Company Law, with a special focus on the legal relations of corporations. It will aim to understand and investigate the current situation of corporations from not only an interpretive legal perspective, but also from the view of sociological law.

Particulars of Administrative Law

This course will deal with the National Government Organization Act, self-governing, Organization Act, National Public Service Law, which are contents of the Government Organization Act, and also examine Order Administrative Law, Welfare Administrative Law and Finance Administrative Law which are cases of administrative action.

This course synthetically reviews legal problems in realty transactions, including relevant theories, possessory right, ownership, use of right, right of mortgage.

Law of Bill and Check

The special system in terms of theLaw of Bill and Check will be considered in detail by interpreting basic general principles of marketable securities in particular attention to the legal relations of the checks which is the payment method of business transactions.

Law of Criminal Procedure

This course concentrates on a systemmatic and logical analysis of criminal procedures on which the criminal is investigated, tried, sentenced and the penalty is executed.

Labor Law

This course covers the basic principles of Labor Law in a comparative manner, as well as its features, Labor Criminal Law, the three rights of labor(the right to organize, the right for collective bargaining, and the right for collection action), and the Labor Standards Act. It aims to gain a proper understanding of Labor Law by examining the laws related to collective labor-management relations such as Labor Union Act, the Conciliation Act, the Labor Relations Board Act, and Labor-Management Conference Act, through detailed case studies.

Civil Execution Law

Course Description: This courses introduce the details of civil execution process to law students who have learned civil procedure. Specifically, it deals with definition of civil execution, source of civil execution, a court certificate for civil execution, the subjects and subject-matters of civil execution, execution process, remedies, execution costs and surety, civil execution based on monetary claim and others, sale based on mortgage enforcement, and provisional remedy such as preliminary injunction and attachment.

Practical Affairs of Civil

Trademark Law

Course Description: Trademark or Servicemark means the mark of one company's goods that strikingly distinguishes with that of another company's ones. Consumers recognize the source of specific goods or service through its trademark or servicemark and then associate its mark with the quality of the goods or service. Hence, trademark or servicemark can be said to be a most significant factor of commercial marketing. The course deals with legal issues such as substantial similarity of trademark, trademark dilution, limitation of rights on trademark, and infringement of trademark or domain name while taking into account these function of trademark or serivemark.

This course introduces the general theory of Constitutional Procedure and the individual types of constitutional trials. It aims to understand the structure of procedure law as a means for accomplishing the actual effects of the Constitution, remedy methods for individual rights and the limits of government organization's rights, and the precedents of the Constitutional Court from the perspective of legal procedure law.

Family Law

This course deals with the Domestic Relations Law which regulates the relationships between married couples, parents and offspring and relatives, and the Law of Succession which regulates the issues of property inheritance that occur among the family relations living together. The aim of this course is to solve problems related to Family Law, by providing an easy understanding of the theories and precedents of Domestic Relation Law and Succession Law.

Law of Marine and Insurance

This course deals with the legal principles derived from the independent and peculiar characteristics of the marine law, and the law of insurance, the function of which lies in making compensation for the loss of unexpected events and economical demand.

Legal Philosophy

Legal Philosophy is a study that provides an overall, basic viewpoint on law, nation and justice. Therefore this course aims to understand legal philosophy by starting from its very basic issue, the concept of law, and moving on to examining the relationships between law and ethics, law and nation etc.

Individual Theory of Administrative Law

This course deals with the administrative law's function in regulating the organization of the state focusing on police law delivery, administrative law, finance law, and military administrative law.

Tax Law

The studies of this course are divided into the general provisions and particulars of Tax Law, and the general provisions include the concept of taxation, principle of no taxation without law, establishment, realization and expansion of tax obligation. The particulars section examines the tax system and policies, based on the application method of interpretations regarding current tax law, with a focus on income tax, problems of financial income and capital gain tax, gift tax and inheritance tax.

Design Protection Law

This course deals with the study of Design Protection Law which protects the design rights of products, the application process for design registrations, the judgements and precedents regarding design registration requirements and its evaluation, and exercising trademark rights and protection policies regarding disputes.

Course Description: This course deals with several legal issues pertinent to internet. Internet a variety of legal issues such as freedom of expression in the field of Constitution, validity and interpretation of legal act, nonperformance of an obligation, defamation, protection of private information, dissemination of obscene materials, intellectual property infringement, jurisdiction, and selection of applicable law.

Economic Law

This course aims to understand the detailed contents of Economic Law, which regulates the market economy that is composed of the fair and liberal competition among the market participants. Main areas of study include the process of how Economic Law was formed into a legal system, and the economic legal significance of monopoly restriction and fair trade in regard to constitutional economic law.

This course aims to enhance legal interpretation skills regarding problematic issues of Criminal Law principles in connection with actual cases, based on the study of important principles of Criminal Law in general.

International Economic Law

This course deals with the main provisions of the WTO Law, which regulates international economic relations between nations, and new trade issues.

Practice of Administrative Law

This course aims to develop practical application skills of overall Administrative Law, through the systematic understanding of administrative legal principles, with a focus on administrative measure theory and law of administrative action per category. Main areas of study include the National Government Organization Act, the Local Government Act, and the individual Law of Administrative Action. This course also targets systematical understanding of individual administrative sectors, based on the general principles of Administrative Law studied in the General Provisions of Administrative Law course.

Practical affairs of Criminal Procedure

On the basis of the knowledge obtained from the criminal law, this course discusses specific cases of criminal law and judicial precedents. It also supplements the contents not fully discussed in the previous.

E - Commerce Law

Course Description: various legal issues which can take place in the area of e-commerce include entrance of a contract, payment of a contract price, taxation, applicable law, jurisdiction, consumer protection, privacy protection, and intellectual property. This course specifically deals with a method to manifest one's intention, electronic certification, parties' liability for defect in electronic transactions, legal nature and effect of electronic money, admissibility and credibility of e-document, consumer protection related to e-commerce, and intellectual property problem pertinent to e-commerce.

.Particulars in Patent Judgement and Legal Procedure

This course deals with the acquisition of patent rights and Intellectual Property Tribunal Policy in relation to transformation of rights, as well as the patent cancel procedure policy against protests. Main areas of study will include the execution of patent rights, solution of disputes, interpretation of the patent application range, and knowledge on the judgement of patent violation.

This course will deal with legal knowledge required for legal judgements, and the determination of facts which show dispute cases regarding civil relations.

Seminar on Commercial Law Precedents

This course aims to develop legal problem solving abilities by presenting the main legal issues of commercial law in general, embodying them into detailed case studies, and deducting legal judgements on these cases by applying commercial law principles.

Theory and Practice in Information Security Law

This course conducts survey and analysis on legal theory and positive law regulations in relation to personal information security, information security, according to each type of application environment.

Copyright Law

Course Description: This course distinguishes industrial property right with copyright. After that, the course deals with legal issues related to originality of copyrighted materials, the details and interrelation of an author's economic rights and moral rights, copyright license contract, and remedies for copyright infringement. In addition, it delves into rights of performers, producers of phonograms and databases, and broadcasters.
