Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering conducts research in electronics and telecommunications technologies and is aimed at producing skills professionals in the information and telecommunications field. The Department offers theoretical and practical courses designed to develop logical understanding of basic electronics and telecommunications concepts through the use of advanced IT equipment. Through computer-simulated learning, the students develop understanding and skills for designing various circuits and also, get to discover and expand their creativity through projects. Providing such education, the Department aims to produce specialized individuals who can apply their knowledge in solving various technical and engineering problems in the electronic and telecommunications field.

Course Descriptions

Fundamental Circuit Lab. 1

This course is to experiment the basic electrical and electronic circuits. In this course, students will learn to use experimental apparatuses, connection methods to form basic circuits, operations of digital and analog circuits etc.

Digital Logic Circuits 1

This course covers fundamental knowledge of digital logic circuits. It includes binary number system, digital signals and switches, basic logic gates, minimization of logic circuits, combinational logic circuits for arithmetic operations, etc.

Electro-magnetics

his course covers the basic theories of the electric and magnetic phenomena. It includes vector analyses, electric and magnetic field in vacuum and in media, boundary conditions, electromagnetic induction phenomena, Maxwell equations, etc.

Circuit Theory1.2

This course deals with the relationship between current and voltage, fundamental theorems about circuits, closed circuits, node equations, Laplace transform and circuit equations and also covers the steady state response and transient response of the system, impulse response and the theory of RLC filters.

Advanced Programming Language 1

This is an advanced course of C/C++ programming. This course includes declaration of data types, operators(arithmetic, relative, logic, bit, etc), decision statements, repetition statements(for, while do, etc), array, pointers, etc.

Fundamental Circuit Lab. 2

This is the continuant course of 'Fundamental circuit Lab 1'. It deals with experiments of RLC circuits, differential and integral circuits, analog circuits, digital sequential circuits, etc to increase the ability to implement the advanced digital and analog circuits.

Data Structures

This course covers the basic theories of data structure. It includes the concept to express data, linear listing, string manipulation, array structures and memory allocation, accessing method of the symbolic tables, tree structures, storage structures and allocation methods of storage spaces, etc.

Digital Logic Circuits 2

This is the continuant course of 'Digital Logic Circuit 1'. This course deals with the overall items to design sequential logic circuits such as characteristics of flip-flops, structural and design methodologies of sequential logic circuits, etc to increase the ability to design sequential logic circuits.

Advanced Programming Language 2

This course is the continuant course of 'Advanced Programming Language 1'. In this course, pre-processor for structural and commonly useful programming based on the basic grammar of C language, file manipulation techniques, as well as techniques to manipulate the application programming concerned with information communication, will be studied.

Data Communications

This course is to study the methodologies for data communication such as communication by computer vs. computer and computer vs. terminals. It includes the concept of data communication, communication codes, structure of communication network, error-correcting codes, protocols, etc.

Electronic Circuits Lab. 1

This course is designed to introduce various electronic instruments for basic experiments and to explore experiments on circuit elements.

Computer Structures

This course covers the structure of a computer. In this course, we will study the roles and interfaces of the processor, memory, and peripherals which are the main components of a computer. Also the ability to apply them to communication systems is committed.

Communication Theory

This course is designed to study the basic theories concerned with communication. It includes the basic theories about the analog and digital communication such as signal analysis, Fourier transformation, analog modulation/ demodulation methods, sampling theory, PAM etc.

Computer Operation Systems

This course aims to understand the concept of processor management, memory management, file management, assistance memory management and to study basic concepts of effective OS management for various recourse of computer systems.

Probabilities and Random Variables

his course covers the fundamental theories of probability theories, random variables, probability density function, spectrum analyses, convergence properties of various random variables, stochastic process, etc.

Electronic Circuits Lab. 2

This course is designed to introduce various electronic instruments for basic experiments and to explore experiments on circuit elements.

Digital Signal Processing

This course deals with the overall items concerned with digital signal processing. It includes the basic knowledges of various signal transformation and manipulation methods, design and application of various digital filters, etc.

Digital Communications

This course covers the overall basic knowledge for digital communication. It includes quantummization, various communication methods, source/channel coding, base-band transmission methods of digital signals, digital modulation/demodulation methods etc.

Computer Communications

This course is to study the fundamentals of computer communication and networks. This course covers the structures of networks and their models, communication protocols and its implementations, application examples of computer networks, etc.

Algorithms

This course is designed to study several particulars for formation, design, management, estimation of algorithm that includes systematic structure for algorithm, analysis methods, models of processing, complicity of algorithm, sets, graph theory, searching methods, etc.

Electronic Circuits

This course covers the diode and transistor circuits, MOSFET, bias stability, small signal analysis, power amplifiers, feedback and oscillators, theory and applications of OP amp, and design algorithm of passive and active filters.

Mobile Communication Engineering

This course aims to acquire basic knowledge for mobile communications. It includes the concept of spread spectrum, cellular system, multi-connection methods such as TDMA and CDMA, equalizer for compensating the fading phenomena, and diversity techniques, etc.

Network Programming

This course is designed to study the methodologies which form softwares to operate network systems. Also in this course, various technologies and programing techniques that form internets and intranets, are studied to construct and provide various services with networks.

Internet Systems 1

This course covers the basic technologies of the Internet. It includes the historical review of the Internet, communication protocols and its applications, TCP/IP network protocols, etc.

VLSI Design Fundamentals

This course explores making a practical exercise by using Magic , Spice, design-aid CAD system and also, implementing practical chips with FPGA Technology by using Altera, after learning the Theory of Semi - Conductor Circuit Design Technology.

Information Communication System Lab. 1

This course is designed to experience the information communication system through experiments. In this lab, methods of using communication kits, techniques of digital modulator/de-modulator, channel synchronization methods, etc are experimented.

Super High Speed Information Communications

In this course, network protocols, telematic services, B-ISDN protocol technologies, concept and its operational role of ATM protocols, ultra high speed ISDN, its application, and its serviceability are studied.

Multimedia Engineering

This course is designed to study the overall basic knowledge related to multimedia communication. It includes all the information communication and network for multimedia communication such as audio, video, TV, wired/wireless telephone, computer and new media, etc.

Distributed Processing systems

This course covers the environments and network operation systems for distributed systems, the basic distributed processing methodologies with client/server computing, operating systems for distributed system, operational concept of distributed processing, etc.

Internet Systems 2

This course is the continuant course of 'Internet System 1'. It includes the application items of internet systems such as e-mail, news, ftp, WWW, telnet, hosting of internet and intranet, real time transaction for application to electronic trade, etc.

Information Communication System Lab. 2

This course is the continuant course of 'Information Communication System Lab. 1'. In this course, base-band communication experiments, PLL frequency synthesizer lab and analog modulation lab are included to experimentally experience the basic operations for advanced information communications.
