· Jung-soo Park (Department of Electronic Engineering) Appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology
Alumnus Jung-soo Park,
who graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering (Bachelor's '15 /
Integrated Master's and Ph.D. '20), was appointed as an Assistant Professor in
the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of
Technology in July this year.
Alumnus Jung-soo Park, from the Class of '09 in the Department of
Electronic Engineering, completed his bachelor's degree and later earned a
Ph.D. (under the supervision of Professor Jung-geun Kim) in the same department
for his research regarding RF beamforming ICs, front-end ICs, and phased array
radar systems, based on CMOS/GaAs, which are key circuits in wireless
communication systems.
Afterward, he
worked as a Research Engineer I at the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA)
from October 2020 to March 2022, focusing on transceivers for high-performance
bidirectional wireless communication systems (Broadband High-Linearity
Switchless Bi-Directional PA/LNA Front-End IC). From April 2022, he spent a
year as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), where he worked
on next-generation broadband phased-array transceiver systems (Mm-Wave
Phase-Time Co-Apertured Transceiver System). Since June 2023, he has been
working as a Senior Engineer at Hanwha Systems, conducting research and development
on multifunction phased-array radar hardware for a year.
In addition, over the past five years, alumnus Jung-soo Park has presented
six papers at international conferences, including a first-author paper at the
International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), often referred to as the
'Olympics of Circuit Design.' He has also published nine papers in SCI-grade
journals.
Alumnus Jung-soo Park advised his juniors, saying, "Kwangwoon
University alumni are conducting outstanding research and development in
various prestigious industries and research institutes both domestically and
internationally. If you acquire solid expertise under the guidance of the
professors at the College of Electronics and Information Engineering and follow
the structured curriculum, it will provide a foundation for shaping the future
you desire." He continued, "Our graduate school provides an excellent
research environment and fosters outstanding research outcomes and top talent.
If you make good use of your research experiences and acquire solid expertise
during your time in graduate school, you will be able to realize your dreams as
key professionals in cutting-edge industries both in Korea and abroad.“ He
added, ”I would also like to express my gratitude to the professors who guided
me, providing an excellent research environment and helping me gain valuable
research experience and knowledge to achieve my goals."
