The Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk (Consigner: Gangbuk-gu Office), which is operated by Kwangwoon University Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation (Director Young-wook Jung) and Suyu 3-dong Residents' Self-Governing Association (Chairman Yeon-bok Jung) signed a memorandum of understanding at the education center of Suyu 3-dong Residents' Self-Governing Association on March 8th. The MOU was signed to identify vulnerable youth (socially isolated or self-secluded) residing in Gangbuk-gu.

Suyu 3-dong is the area with the highest number of single-person youth households in Gangbuk-gu, so the Suyu 3-dong Residents' Self-Governing Association has taken an active role in identifying vulnerable youth and connecting them with the youth center for support.

In 2024, Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk plans to ▲identify 50 socially isolated youth ▲provide specialized education and follow-up programs to the youth and their families to encourage their daily recovery and entry into the labor market.

On this day, the Suyu 3-dong Residents' Self-Governing Association said, "Our residents' association has been deeply concerned about the difficult social advancement of youth due to the long pandemic and the '3 Highs' (high prices, high interest rates, high exchange rates). Especially in Suyu 3-dong, where single-person households are concentrated in goshiwons and multi-family homes, we will take the time to consider how we can help local youth as residents through this project with Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk and the 'Neighborhood Care Team'."

Director Young-wook Jung of Kwangwoon University’s Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation expressed his support, saying, "We will find ways for Kwangwoon University’s Industry-Academic Collaboration Foundation to support vulnerable youth residing in Gangbuk-gu."

Meanwhile, Seoul Youth Center Gangbuk plans to conduct various programs (psychological counseling, delivery of single-person household kits, social network formation programs, home repair projects, job support, entrepreneurship support, etc.) reflecting the needs of socially isolated and self-secluded youth, from identification to follow-up, with youth support managers accompanying them throughout the entire process.
