SHared AI-Robotics Education Team of Kwangwoon University Wins R-BIZ Challenge Competition

Students who participated in the extracurricular program of the SHared AI-Robotics Education (Leader: Professor Moon-ho Jeong, Division of Robotics) won three awards, including the Korea Robot Industry Promotion Agency President's Award, at the 9th R-BIZ Challenge held on October 13.

 

In the 'Baedal Minjok Food Delivery Challenge,' the team 'Dalgodeong' (Hyun-wook Lee, Min-gyu Park, Sung-ho Bae, Jae-hyuk Hyeon, Soo-bin Jung) won the Presidential Award (1st place) by successfully delivering 1.5 liters of water in 20 seconds using a robot. ). The team 'Phoenix' (Dong-joon Jang, Woo-jae Choi, Ki-jin Lee, Sung-kwan Kim) leaked only 0.001 liters of water out of the 1.5 liters of water, earning the 3rd place, Korea Robot Industry Association Chairman's Award. The ‘FASTFOOTS’ team (Il-hyuk Kwon, In-seok Jeon, Min-ji Kim, Young-jun Hong) received the Baedal Minjok Special Award by implementing robot reverse driving through autonomous driving.

 

Kwangwoon University has won four consecutive awards from the 6th to the 9th R-BIZ Challenge competitions. Professor Moon-ho Jeong (School of Robotics, Leader of the SHared AI-Robotics Education) said, 'Not only robot development education but also robot utilization education is important. We have achieved more outcomes in robot utilization education when conducting interdisciplinary education for various majors.' He further added, 'We plan to operate more diverse extracurricular programs related to robot utilization education.'

 

Meanwhile, the SHared AI-Robotics Education of Kwangwoon University is conducting an extracurricular intelligent robot program which involves teams of robotics majors and non-majors, students from Kwangwoon University and other universities, and  students and the general public. This program aims to foster outstanding talents in advanced fields through convergence education on intelligent robots.
