A research team (Ahn Jung-Yoon, master's student, and Park Hyun-Jun, doctoral student) led by Prof. Lee Taek (Department of Chemical Engineering) has developed a DNA aptamer which can detect Cluster of Differentiation (CD) 9 protein, an exosome surface protein, for the first time and applied it to develop a biosensing platform, which can be used to diagnose cancer.

This research was supported by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (2020003030001) through the Aquatic Ecosystem Health Management Program of the Ministry of Environment (MOE), The Industrial Core Technology Development Project (20009121) of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and the National Research Foundation of Korea (2021R1C1C1005583). The research results were published in ACS Sensors, the renowned international academic journal (IF: 9.618, JCR: 4.1%) with the title 'Extended-Gate Field-Effect Transistor Consisted of a CD9 Aptamer and MXene for Exosome Detection in Human Serum' (Reference: https://doi.org/10.1021/acssensors.3c00879)."
