Kwangwoon University Selected as a New Host Organization for the 2023 Preliminary Start-up Package Project


Kwangwoon University has been selected as a new host for the ‘2023 Preliminary Startup Package Project’ supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Promotion.

 

The preliminary start-up package project aims to create quality jobs by supporting the successful start-up and commercialization of prospective entrepreneurs with innovative technology start-up ideas, and about 10 billion won will be invested over a total of 4 years until 2026.

 

The school provides practical start-up support programs such as start-up education, mentoring, market connection, and global advancement, as well as commercialization funds necessary for prospective entrepreneurs. In particular, this project is 'No. 1 Collective Impact' is set as the vision and plans to promote this project with private investment institutions (Shinhan Venture Investment, etc.), local governments (Nowon-gu, Gangbuk-gu, Dobong-gu, Guri-si), and universities (Kwangwoon University, Seoul Women's University, Duksung Women's University, Sahmyook University) .

 

President Kim Jong-heon said, "In addition to the success of startups, Kwangwoon University plans to actively utilize the start-up infrastructure owned by this school to revitalize the local economy, and will cooperate with the public, government, and academia to provide step-by-step customized support for the growth of preliminary start-ups."
