Kwangwoon University received the ‘EV6’ from Hyundai Motor Company and Kia and held a donation ceremony on February 8, 2023.

Last year, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia established a joint research lab with Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Kwangwoon University to develop electric vehicle intelligent control technology, and have been proactively developing core software technologies to control future electric vehicles for about three years. In addition, it is developing torque vectoring technology (Prof. Joo-Hoon Baek's research team, Department of Robotics) and optimal thermal management control technology (Prof. Yeon-Soo Kim's research team, Department of Chemical Engineering) for future electric vehicles through individual projects with Kwangwoon University.

Kwangwoon University expects that this vehicle donation will allow to study key technologies for future electric vehicle control in consideration of the more practical vehicle environment.

Hyundai Motor Company R&D Headquarters Vehicle Control Development Center (Vice President Kim Yong-hwa) said, “I hope that more substantial research will be done with this vehicle donation.”
