Nurturing Talents in the 4th Industrial Revolution

- Kwangwoon University has developed a lifelong education training program that anyone can take for free -

Kwangwoon MOOC Center announced that it would make an effort to secure expertise in future technologies by being selected as an individual lecture in the new industry of the "2022 Korean Online Open Course (K-MOOC)" project hosted by the National Lifelong Education Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Education.

Since its first selection in 2018 for the nationwide online learning center K-MOOC project, Kwangwoon University has made steady progress for five consecutive years. In particular, this open course reflects the demand for continuing education as a liberal arts course designed to develop future talent and deepen understanding of new technologies. In addition to three lectures on new industries and new technologies, one lecture on psychology and health was also presented.

The lecture "Future Law, Changed by ICT" (Professor Jiwon Song) was created to understand how ICT (Information and Communication Technology), which has changed lives and industries in general, develops our laws in the era of intelligent information, as well as how to provide legal knowledge that you need to know as a citizen. Through this lecture, you will understand how the current legal system is responding to new technologies such as communications, blockchain, data, artificial intelligence, and the metaverse. This will help you prepare for the legal challenges you may face in the future.

Renewable Energy Based on New Digital Technologies (Professor Hee Sang Song) provides a basic knowledge of Energy 4.0, a digital energy technology in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, where technology convergence is key. Professor Hee Sang Son is an expert in the field of energy and electronic materials. He worked diligently to present the lecture for the education of professional talents, which includes knowledge and practical skills in the collection, storage, and use of energy based on highly efficient, highly safe, highly intelligent, and environmentally friendly renewable energy technologies.

The lecture "Metaverse, Become a True Master" (Professor Donghoon Jeong) explains the changes in the media and content industry that are happening thanks to data science and artificial intelligence so that anyone can easily understand them. The environment of the metaverse created by "virtual" and "3D" was explained using realistic media and content. Professor Donghoon Jeong is working diligently to develop media literacy for new technologies, planning a series of lectures "Become a Real Master" based on the popular lectures of the previous "4th Industrial Revolution, Become a Real Master".

The Smart Family Life, Relationship Play course (Professor Yoon-hee Choi, Ran-ho Yoon) recognizes the importance of family life due to COVID-19 and suggests the relationship game as a way to restore family intimacy after conflict or stress. Professor Yoon-hee Choi and Ran-ho Yoon made it possible to apply relational play in everyday life between families by presenting real-life game cases through 360-degree virtual reality images, as well as special expert lectures to improve understanding of family health.

The above courses can be taken from November this year through the official website of the National Institute of Continuing Education (K-MOOC) (www.kmooc.kr).
