Prof. Park Jaeyoung's Team Developed a Carbon Nanofiber Sensor that can Measure Pulse, Heart Rate, Respiration, and Vocalization

- Developed a high-performance wearable pressure sensor based on carbon nanofibers with a PANI-nanospines structure. 

- It is expected to be used as a core technology in wearable smart healthcare, electronic skin, robots, and the metaverse. 

- Published in Elsevier Nano Energy Journal (IF:17.88), an internationally renowned journal.  

 

Kwangwoon University Professor Park Jaeyoung’s team has developed a wearable flexible piezoresistive sensor that can detect and monitor various large and small biosignals of the human body in real-time, such as pulse, heart rate, respiration, and vocalization. Compared to conventional sensors, it has better features such as ultra-high sensitivity and ultra-low detection limit over a wide linear pressure range (0-50 kPa). The team expects it to be widely used as a core technology in wearable smart healthcare, electronic skin, a humanoid robot, and the metaverse.

This research was carried out with support from the National Research Foundation of Korea Biomedical Technology Development Project (NRF-2017M3A9F1031270) and a mid-level research project (NRF-2020R1A2C2012820). The research results were published in the journal Nano Energy (IF:17.88) published by Elsevier, the world's leading journal specializing in nano devices and energy.
