Two teams from the School of International Trade won the Grand Prize and the Encouragement Award in the National University Student Business Case Paper Contest

Students from the School of International Trade at Kwangwoon University won the Grand Prize and the Encouragement Award in two categories at the National University Student Business Case Paper Contest hosted by the Korean Society of Management Consulting.

 

The Korean Society of Management Consulting recently (May 21) held the National University Student Business Case Paper Contest in which 16 university teams participated along with the 2022 Fall Conference of the Korean Society of Management Consulting.

 

In this competition, teams Kim Doyeon, Kim Sanghyuk, Yoon Taeseop (junior and senior students), and Lee Yuna (senior student) who are enrolled in the School of International Trade presented strategies for business expansion using Roblox's Metaverse. They won the Top Prize in the Management Consulting Category. Their presentation identifies the limitations of Roblox's profit model, which has recently entered a period of stagnant growth. Their presentation was evaluated as original in its idea to converge the educational content field with the game industry to identify the limitations of Roblox's profit model, which has recently entered a growth stagnation, and to secure a new growth engine. In addition, the teams Choi Seunggyu and Hong Seongyong (sophomore and higher) of this department presented a presentation on the repositioning strategy of Genisys, which is struggling as a latecomer in the electric vehicle market. They won the Encouragement Award in the Business Case Analysis category.

 

Professor Jeong Jaehwi, who oversaw coaching students for competitions, said, “We will strengthen students’ problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking even more by grafting and utilizing the expertise of the department’s major classes to external activities like this competition.
