Kwangwoon University Professor Park Jaeyoung’s Team Implements a Self-Powered Smart User Authentication Platform

- Developed a high-power nano-generator and non-powered hybrid pressure sensor using nanofiber membrane

- Demonstrated the power-independent smart user authentication system production

- Published a paper (IF:18.8) in the internationally renowned journal Wiley Advanced Functional Materials

The research team of Professor Park Jaeyoung (Department of Electronic Engineering) at Kwangwoon University has developed a triboelectric nanogenerator that can be used as a semi-permanent green power source for wearable electronic devices. The team also developed a hybrid pressure sensor that can accurately measure static and dynamic touch pressure simultaneously without a power supply. In addition, a highly accurate user authentication system was successfully demonstrated by combining a hybrid pressure sensor and artificial intelligence technology. This showed the possibility of introducing an environmentally friendly, non-volatile intelligent user authentication platform in the future.
