Kwangwoon University Team Won Grand Prize at 2020 University Innovation Support Project Metropolitan Performance Forum

Kwangwoon University ‘Noisy Students’ team won the grand prize at the '2020 University Innovation Support Project Metropolitan Area Achievement Forum' held from January 28 (Thu) to February 3 (Wed), 2021.

The ‘Noisy Students’ team at Kwangwoon University drew a lot of attention by holding a campaign called 'Taegeukgi 122609 to the End’ (Taegeukgi = Korean flag), in Chambit design class of spring semester 2020. This campaign began with the purpose of remembering the dedication of 12,609 ROK soldiers who were not found until this year, the 70th anniversary of the Korean War. The Taegeukgi badge is a new symbol of veterans’ service created by the Kwangwoon University Public Communication Research Institute, which covers the Taegeukgi when excavating the remains of veterans of the Korean War and is designed to be seen when they pay silent tribute. Since last year, it has been developed by applying more than 20,000 big data analysis and design thinking methodologies, and the developed symbol has begun to attract attention as students at the Department of Media and Communication launched a campaign through SNS such as Instagram. Subsequently, it took over from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs took over and carried out a campaign to the public at the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, which grabbed a lot of attention.

Meanwhile, the ‘Noisy Students’ team is made up of Kwangwoon University students Jaewoo Yoon (Senior, Department of Media and Communication) and Jung Yoon Lee (Junior, Department of Media and Communication).
