1. Hwado Building

This central building of the University was completed on December 31, 1976 as a five-story building with a basement, and 2,105 pyong of total floor space. In August 1980 it was expanded to a six-story building with an increased building area of 2,982 pyong. It is the main building of the University, standing upright with great pillars. In the building are the College of Humanities & Social Sciences and administrative offices, such as the President's Office, the Office of Planning & Management, the Office of Academic & Research Affairs, the Office of General Affairs, and the Office of Maintenance. On the first and second floors are administrative offices, on the third and fourth floors are classrooms, and on the fifth and sixth floors are offices for the faculty.

2. Bima Building

Completed in August 1963 as a seven-story building with 1,483 pyong of total floor space, Bima Building was expanded and remodeled in January 1984 to become a nine-story building with a building area of 4.000 pyong. The College of Engineering is located in this building, equipped with many classrooms and various laboratories. In this building there are offices for the faculty, specialized research rooms, department offices, laboratories for basic sciences, equipment rooms, graduate students' offices, the Institute of New Technology, and classrooms. Also, an amateur broadcasting system, the first to be installed in a Korean college, is located on the 9th floor.

3. Okui Building

This building was completed in December 1978 as a building with eight stories, seven above ground and a basement, and total floor space of 1,422 pyong. It was used as a Students' Hall. In 1988 two stories were added to this building, thereby expanding the total floor space to 1,818 pyong, and it became the building for the College of Natural Science. Also, the studio for the Kwangwoon Broadcasting Station is located on the 6th floor.

4. The Central Library

The Central Library of the University was newly built in 1980 as a ten-story building with total floor space of 2,500 pyong. The Library is the center of academic research, equipped with all necessary facilities and materials: PC room for on-line information search, check-out services, multi-media material room, periodical room, thesis room, reference room, a seating capacity of 1,400, movie room, and seminar rooms.

5. Amphitheater

Built in April 1978 between the Hwado Building and the Central Library, the Theater has a seating capacity of 2,000. It is full of the passion and enthusiasm of Kwangwoonians who enjoy a variety of live programs such as Wolkye Festival, Wolkye Singing Contest, cheer festival and folklore performances. Behind the stage is a large bronze relief to add beauty to the Theater.

6. Statue of Bima (Pegasus, Flying horse)

Located in front of the Hwado Building and in the center of the whole campus, this bronze status of a flying horse reflects the ideals of the Kwangwoonians and their resolution to fly high.

7. Statue of the Founder (Dr. Cho)

To honor the philosophy and virtue of the founder of the University, the late Dr. Cho Kwangwoon, persons related with the Kwangwoon Foundation collected a fund to build a statue, which was unveiled in 1986. It is located in a cosy corner of the campus just in front of the Bima Building. The bronze statue, 1.65 meters high and situated on a 1.5 meter high pedestal, shows the late Dr. Cho sitting in contemplation with his favorite classic Chinese book Myungshimbogam on his knees. It was produced by sculptor Nho Jae-Seung and the epitaph was written by Cho Yong-Joon.

8. Bokji Building

This building of red bricks and granite acts as the main gate of the University, the space on the 1st floor leading visitors into the campus. The building houses facilities that support student activities and student welfare. Completed on August 24, 1988, the Bokji building had two floors added to it in May 1998 to expand the building area to 1,528 pyong. This building stands at the center of the University entrance and looks as if it has its wings spread out on both sides. The Office of Student Affairs, the Student Council, student organizations, and shops for students are located in this building. On the fourth floor are the Offices of the University Newspaper and the Kwangwoon Annals.

9. Munhwa Building

Built in September 1994, this building is located in front of the University gate along with the Yongu Building. It is a six-story, round-shaped building including two basement floors and the total floor space amounts to 4,455 pyong. Inside the building are facilities for cultural activities, such as the ice rink, IDEC, Student's Cafeteria, Faculty and Staff Cafeteria, Kwangwoon Institute of Language Education, and two theaters, one with 600 seats and another with 2,100 seats.

10. Yungu Building

The foundation of this building was laid in April 1991 and it was completed in October 1993 as a twelve-story building including two basement floors with a building area of 1,385 pyong. This building, which stands across the street from the school main gate, has the Graduate School, the Graduate School of Computer Science and Engineering, the Institute of Computer Science and Humanities, the Institute of Computer & Information, and the Dept. of Computer Science located in it.

11. Chambit Building

This building, which is the center for electronics, information, and communication, was completed on January 11, 2001. It got its name from the school motto, "truth" and "light" and symbolizes our wish to shed the light of truth all over the world. According to the development plan of the university aiming at the age of electronics, information, and communication in the 21th century, the foundation of this building was laid on February 1999 and it was completed in two years. The Chambit Building, which covers 4,053 pyong in total floor space, 3 stories underground and 10 stories above ground, features facilities that reflect the latest advancement in technology and was intended purely for educational and research purposes. The Chambit building, which will be used for education and research, has parking space, the central control center, and the power generator room on B3; parking space and a warehouse on B2; 4 large-sized classrooms with 170 seats, 4 medium-sized classrooms with more than 100 seats, 6 regular classrooms with 80 seats, an international conference room, and the Internet Cafe on floors B1, 1, and 2; and offices for the faculty, research labs, department offices, and the roof garden on floors 3 to 10.

12. Kwangwoon Business Incubation Center

This center was approved to be built by the District Office of Nowon Ku on July 3, 2000 and was completed on December 5, 2000 as a building of 4 stories (234 pyong) located on a lot of 116 pyong. Yedam Architecture was in charge of the design and Jubang Construction undertook the construction of the building. The KWBIC has office space for 22 businesses and is designed to offer various research and convenience facilities for the businesses located in the building, such as convenience facilities, seminar rooms, public equipment room, air-conditioning, and heating. The building of this center was proposed because KWBIC was selected by the Small and Medium Business Administration in August, 1999 to participate in a project promoting entrepreneurs and strengthening the competitiveness of the industry of Korea. It was built with funds assisted by the SMBA in order to offer systematic support such as office space, equipment, networking, facilities, and business assistance to would-be entrepreneurs or early venture business investors. KWBIC is devoted to discovering new and would-be entrepreneur with a potential for success and will support them with various facilities such as office space, public equipment, and other facilities, and will also offer them training and consulting in areas such as management, accounting, technology, and information. The support of the center, combined with the creative ideas of businesses located in it, will play a big role in nurturing excellent venture entrepreneurs and strengthening the competitiveness of Korean industry.

13. Yeonchon Building

Yeonchonjae is a three-story building with one basement floor covering 330§³ in total floor space and provides various convenient facilities including a reference room, study rooms, bed rooms, seminar rooms and a lounge for students preparing for high-rank government officials selection examination.

14. Hanwool Building

This building is a 7 story building with three basement floors covering 16529§³ in total floor space. It houses the Colleges of Humanities and Social Science, Law and Business, along with lecture and seminar rooms.

15. Hancheon Building

The building is 5 story building with one basement floor covering 1223§³ in total floor space. The basement floor houses a gym and the second to fifth floors house the professors' offices.

16. 70th Anniversary Memorial Building

The building is nestled in Jangwee Dong. As a 7-story-building with 3 basement floors covering 5851§³ in total floor space, it will serve as the welfare center for graduates, professors, students, and staff.
